"Surface" rough concept and finish paint

With the holidays coming up and since I'm in the middle of a big project, I havent done much sketching (at least not that I can post legally because of contacts). I'm gonna have to cheat a little bit and post some previously done work. I thought it might be fun to post a couple of images of the same project at different stages in production. This example was one of the concept pieces I did for NBC on the "Surface" tv show. This particular piece was for an episode on Cryptozoology and I did a number of images based on 'mysterious/rarely seen' creatures i.e. bigfoot, etc. The first one is the finished paint and the second one the inked rough submitted for concept approval. I wanted to post the thumbnail images from my initial thought process but can't seem to find them in the stacks of drawings in the studio. If I come across them, I'll post them at another time.
